ABOUT THE NAV FESTIVAL
The New American Voices Playwriting Festival is a national playwriting contest which annually features four new American plays by some of the nation’s most promising emerging playwrights. The plays are performed by local actors, and followed by talkbacks with the playwrights, directors and casts. The festival is online, and offers the seasoned theatre-goer a stimulating taste of what’s next in American theatre.
This year's festival also includes two panel discussions by leading professionals in the theater industry on topics important to playwrights and the theatre community.

We've also added an exciting new design feature in order to help audiences more vividly realize the plays on stage. Each play has been assigned a specific theatre venue in Houston, and given a design team. The designers have created designs for an actual production in the assigned venue, and will present their concepts in a complete design presentation following the reading and talkback of each play.
