The 2015-16 Season

A Landing / Obsidian Co-Production

How I Learned
to Drive
by Paula Vogel
Directed by Paige Kiliany
September 4-26, 2015

Set in a rural Maryland town, Paula Vogel’s Pulitzer Prize winning play explores the sexual relationship that developed between Li'l Bit and her Uncle Peck during her formative teenage years. The story, ultimately about self-discovery, examines the basic humanity that binds the two characters. Cleverly conceived with three Chorus members playing her family and the rest of the people in her life, the play is poignant, daring and often surprisingly funny.

This masterwork of America playwriting is one of Paula Vogel's greatest dramatic achievements, having won the Pulitzer, Obie, Drama Desk Award, New York Critic’s Circle Award, Outer Circle Critics Award and the Lucille Lortel Award.
